Today, 19 December 2009, Academic Corner News is born. It will bring to public attention news and findings from the Academic World. Mainly, subjects related to Health, Medicine, Biology and Biotechnology will be discussed. Attention will be given also to subjects related to Mind Power and its positive use.

In the post-Genomic era, we are living, it's becoming clear that not all is written in our Genes.
The next years promise to reveal yet hidden mechanisms regulating interactions among the complex molecules at the base of our life. The impact on our health and general well being will be profound.

In addition, a section of this Blog will be devoted to inform about rare diseases. Despite the low incidence of these diseases in the general population, their impact on people affected by them, is profound. The scarcity of information and attention given to them, doesn't help the families who need to face them. Hopefully, soon a comprehensive list of rare diseases and their symptoms on this site could provide some help. A list of Hospitals, Specialists and Institutions treating them is also in the author's plans and programs and it will be compiled ASAP.
